Some cravings come and go. Some are a little more persistent, but still avoidable by convincing yourself that broccoli and water are the basically the same as eating said unhealthy food item. Then there are the cravings that eat away at your soul and you literally cannot do/think about anything else until it is consumed. These cravings usually attack at times of great inconvenience, like studying.
It was ripe time for procrastinating one gloomy Monday night and I needed hot chocolate. Luckily for me, I did not have any hot coco mix on hand so I turned to google. After some light researching and scavenging my pantry, I threw some stuff I found in a pot and drank it. It was kind of delicious.
Nutella Hot Chocolate
Serves 2 generously
2 cups milk of choice
2 tbsp chocolate chips
3 tbsp Nutella
1/8 tsp cinnamon
Heat milk over low-med heat in a small non-stick pot until steamy. Add chocolate chips, Nutella and cinnamon. Stir vigorously with a whisk until everything is melted and the hot coco is smooth and hot. Serve with fresh whipped cream, marshmallows or for all you alcoholics, add a splash of Bailey’s to make it boozy.
Fresh Whipped Cream
Makes approximately 1 cup
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/2 tbsp granulated sugar, optional
To burn a couple calories before indulging, whisk cream and sugar vigorously by hand in a medium sized bowl until stiff peak forms. A hand mixer is also acceptable..
